How to Inspect the Operation of Roots Blowers

1. Pre-start Inspection

(1) Check if all bolts and nuts are loose.(2) Inspect the lubrication condition and ensure the oil level is at the center of the oil gauge.(3) Check belt tension and pulley runout.(4) Verify the voltage and frequency of the power supply.(5) Confirm all instruments are functioning normally. Notify maintenance personnel for immediate replacement in case of abnormalities.(6) For main pipeline valves: Open the outlet valve of the blower to be operated, and keep the outlet valves of all idle blowers closed to prevent overload and equipment damage.

2. Startup Inspection

(1) For constant-frequency operation: Set the corresponding blower switch in the electric control cabinet to constant-frequency mode, then press the Start button. Keep switches of other blowers and frequency converters in the stop position. Double-check all settings before starting.(2) For variable-frequency operation: Activate the switch on the frequency converter first, then switch the corresponding blower in the electric control cabinet to variable-frequency mode. Ensure other blowers remain stopped. Confirm the target blower is in normal condition before switching to variable-frequency mode.(3) After the blower runs steadily (usually within one minute), close the exhaust valve slowly. Rapid closure will cause an instantaneous surge of current, which may burn out the motor.

3. In-operation Inspection

(1) Adjust the inlet valve of the contact oxidation tank to ensure uniform aeration.(2) Maintain dissolved oxygen at 2 ~ 4 mg/L (read via dissolved oxygen meter).(3) Abnormal lubricant viscosity, excessive noise and high current may occur in the initial running stage. These issues will disappear automatically after 10 to 20 minutes of operation.(4) Do not adjust the flow rate by opening or closing valves. As a positive displacement compressor, this blower regulates flow and shaft power by adjusting rotating speed.(5) The pressure gauge switch is normally closed (NC). Open it only when pressure measurement is required.(6) Even blowers of the same model produce different noise levels, due to varying installation positions and pipeline layouts in the equipment room.

4. Shutdown Operation & Inspection

(1) Open the exhaust valve slowly until it is fully open.(2) Press the Stop button on the electric control cabinet.
